Survivor Pools for Your Sleeper League: Rules and Setup
By Jordan Stirling · Updated
Pick one fantasy team each week in Armchair Commish Survivor. Learn single and double elimination, team reuse, tiebreaks, and how to connect a Sleeper league.
Armchair Commish runs Survivor over your Sleeper league’s fantasy teams. Each participant picks one team to win its weekly head-to-head matchup. An unsuccessful pick costs a strike; elimination depends on whether the pool uses single or double elimination. The app grades picks from your linked league’s results.
This is a side game alongside your fantasy season. Your league remains on Sleeper, and participants sign in to Armchair Commish to submit picks.
How does fantasy-league Survivor work?
Suppose Field Generals plays End Zone Bandits this week. You choose Field Generals as your Survivor pick. If Field Generals wins that fantasy matchup, you survive the week. If it loses, you receive a strike. Under single elimination, that strike ends your run; under double elimination, your first strike leaves you with another chance.
When the pool limits each team to one use, you must choose a different team in later weeks. The available teams are your league’s fantasy teams, not the NFL slate.
Which rules can you choose?
The creation form offers these settings. Read the rules displayed for your particular pool before making a pick, since existing pools may use different choices.
| Setting | What it controls | New-pool default |
|---|---|---|
| Elimination format | One strike or two before elimination | Double elimination |
| Use each team once | Whether a participant can reuse a fantasy team | Enabled |
| Tied matchup | Whether a tied result counts against the participant | No strike for a tie |
| Missed pick | Whether failing to pick counts against the participant | Counts against the participant |
| Title tiebreak | Share the title or compare accumulated points from picked teams | Shared title |
| Start and end weeks | The pool’s playing window | Check the season shown in the form |
These rules apply to the side game. They do not change your Sleeper league’s scoring or schedule.
How to start a pool
- Create an account and connect Sleeper. Enter your Sleeper username, then select the league. Armchair Commish does not ask for your Sleeper password.
- Open Survivor. A league member can start a pool; setup is not restricted to the commissioner.
- Choose the rules. Select the elimination format, team-reuse rule, treatment of ties and missed picks, title tiebreak, and playing window. Agree the format with your league first.
- Invite participants. Managers need their own Armchair Commish accounts and league access to submit picks.
- Pick each week. Use the available teams and lock information shown in the app. Check your saved selection before the deadline.
- Review the results. The app tracks strikes and eliminations from the fantasy matchups as results are processed.

Can everyone keep playing after a loss?
Double elimination allows one unsuccessful pick before elimination on the second strike. Single elimination ends a participant’s run on the first strike. Neither format promises every participant a full season of picks. Managers who are eliminated can still follow the pool or compete in Pick’em.
Does Survivor move money or change my Sleeper team?
No. Armchair Commish reads league data and scores the side game. It does not submit waivers, change lineups, collect dues, or distribute prizes. Optional entry fees and prizes remain between the commissioner and participants; no money is needed to run a bragging-rights pool.
Sleeper is the supported import platform. ESPN and Yahoo imports are not available. The FAQ covers current pricing and account details. Create an account when you are ready to connect your league.
